“CARE, where else in what other subject can you develop Creativity, Aspiration, Resilience and Empathy? Physical Education ticks all of these boxes”
Welcome back to the PE Umbrella my friends. It is great to have you with us once again and I am sure you will pick up some tremendously valuable insights from todays episode.
I chat with Kate Thornton-Bousfield, the primary lead and development manager for physical literacy at the Youth Sport Trust (YST). As always, we chat ALL things Primary PE as she shares her top activity, provides advice for teachers in a PE ‘rut’ and shares experiences and success stories from her time as a PRIMARY and SECONDARY PE teacher.
Kate has some fantastic advice for YOU that will impact positively on the PE teaching and delivery in YOUR school! Be sure to visit the YST website for links to all of the resources that Kate shares in this episode. So what are you waiting for? Click play right here or subscribe to the PE Umbrella on iTunes to listen at your own leisure whenever you choose.
What I Learned: Sustainability is KEY! If spent carefully and thoughtfully, the PE budget can have a profound impact and put a school on the right track for the future its PE. Careful consideration needs to be taken when spending this budget and it must be mapped out to the INDIVIDUAL NEEDS of YOUR school. Use the YST resources on their website to evaluate your current provision and create SMART goals for where you would like your school to be a year from now.
