Welcome to episode 170 of The PE Umbrella podcast, the ONLY dedicated Primary PE Podcast in the world!
Joining me Under the Umbrella this week is international PhysEd teacher and host of the Coach Pat Chat podcast, Patrick Hughes. It was a joy speaking with Patrick on this episode of The PE Umbrella, not least as he had just recently returned to post lockdown teaching at the time of recording, while here in the UK, we were still in full lockdown. This gave me scope to enquire about post lockdown changes and what teaching with a full set of students back was really like as they didn’t use the ‘bubbles’ approach taken here in the UK with phased returns. Patrick shares with us the things that worked on returning, what didn’t work and ultimately what surprised him after being away from his students for over 3 months.
Not only that, but we also dived into the regular show questions too…
– What currently excites you about PE?
– What misconceptions of Primary PE would you banish to room 101 given the chance?
– What is your perfect primary PE lesson recipe?
– What was the worst PE lesson you ever taught and why?
All of that plus top class-management tips, favourite warm-up games and behaviour management advice, I’m certain there is something for you to take away and mull over in this episode!
So what are you waiting for? Come on over and join us Under the PE Umbrella.
