Welcome to episode 190 of The PE Umbrella podcast, the ONLY dedicated Primary PE Podcast in the world!
Joining me Under the Umbrella this week is a real gem of a PE practitioner who is making waves in the PESSPA space here in the UK, and rightly so. I’ve waited a long time to welcome him back to the show. Every time I have conducted a poll on social media asking who I should have on the show, one name is always a constant and it’s this man! Finally, this week, we made it happen and I welcomed back PE, Physical Activity and Forest School leader Niall O’Brien to The PE Umbrella Podcast!
Niall last joined me back in episode 118 of the podcast over 2 years ago with Dan Wilson as we took a whistle-stop tour of the current state of affairs in Primary Schools when it came to wellbeing and a positive movement culture in schools. Much has changed since then, with Niall switching jobs and fast becoming a catalyst for positive change in the Primary PE space as a whole through the outstanding examples of pedagogy and learning he shares from his School PE Twitter account (@pechurchprim1). All in all, then, this was set up to be an all-time classic of an episode and it certainly didn’t disappoint. It comes in as the longest episode in PE Umbrella history to date which is very unsurprising due to the vast amount of excellent advice and stories that Niall shares.
As far as I’m concerned, if every school had a Niall O’Brien in it, we’d be 1000% in a better place when it comes to PESSPA. Simply put, you can’t afford to miss this episode. You will 100% take something away from this recording for your own benefit, even if it is to confirm the amazing work that YOU are already doing
