Welcome to episode 156 of The PE Umbrella podcast, the ONLY dedicated Primary PE Podcast in the world!
This week I am joined by former England, Leeds Rhinos and Bradford Bulls Women’s Rugby League player, Lois Forsell.
On this episode, we chat about Lois’ journey from a PE loving young girl into an elite athlete playing at the very highest level in sport. We discuss environmental and psychological factors that contributed to the journey that Lois went on leading to her representing her country. I also dive into the early experiences of PE that Lois had, and how this shaped/contributed towards her career trajectory. We also enjoyed chatting about the peer/social pressures that can negatively impact on girls enjoyment/willingness to continue being physically active/sporty and what Lois saw of this herself, particularly through her high school years. It all provides some fascinating insights into what it takes to make it to the top.
