Welcome to episode 204 of The PE Umbrella podcast, the ONLY dedicated Primary PE Podcast in the world!
Joining me Under the Umbrella this week is PE coordinator Joe Danquah. Teaching in the North East, Joe is somebody I connected with over Twitter a number of months back now and I’m always excited to see the content he shares regarding his work. It is clear to see how much he loves his teaching role and his enthusiasm for the subject is second to none. One of the first videos I saw of him was his students dancing on the playground and he was joining in. I told myself two things after watching that. One, I want to speak with Joe on the podcast, and two, I need to learn that dance!
A few months later and I’ve accomplished both, although the dance is not worth shouting about as much as this podcast episode is! It was a pleasure speaking with Joe about his journey into teaching and his current role as he reflected on his answers to the following questions:
– What currently excites you about Primary PE?
– What is your ideal PE lesson recipe?
– What was the worst lesson you ever taught and why?
– What is one PE resource you couldn’t live without and why?
Of course, in and amongst this we also talk about his favourite ever warm-up game and top class-management tips!
So what are you waiting for? Grab your note pad(s) and a pen, then come and join us Under the PE Umbrella.
