Welcome to episode 189 of The PE Umbrella podcast, the ONLY dedicated Primary PE Podcast in the world!
Joining me Under the Umbrella this week all the way from Singapore are PE teachers Greg Thurlow & Lachlan McLellan. As is always the case, it was of great interest to me speaking with two incredible educators about the similarities and differences of teaching PE in a completely different culture to my own. I’ve learned over the years that no matter the country, good teaching and pedagogy is good teaching and pedagogy everywhere, regardless of country or culture. Both Greg & Lachlan were late to teaching so to speak, and this gave me an opportunity to ask how their life before teaching prepared them for the job at hand and what skills they were able to transfer across to this profession. We were then able to dive into what makes them tick as educators and share knowledge bombs that you can hopefully take away and apply to your own work, wherever in the world you may be. Not only that but many of the show regular questions are here too that will give you lots to consider. These include:
– What currently excites you about PE?
– What misconceptions of Primary PE would you banish given the chance?
– What is your ideal primary PE lesson recipe?
– What was the worst PE lesson you ever taught and why?
All of that plus top class-management tips and favourite warm-up games, you’re in for a treat!
So what are you waiting for? Come on over and join us Under the PE Umbrella.
