Welcome to episode 174 of The PE Umbrella podcast, the ONLY dedicated Primary PE Podcast in the world!
Joining me Under the Umbrella this week is Primary PE specialist of 17 years Brendan Rouse. This week I had the pleasure of picking the brains of Brendan and his substantial experience in the Primary PE sector. This presented the opportunity to reflect on his career highs and lows and what he’s learned from those experiences that have helped his growth as a person and as a teacher. As is the norm for the podcast, we venture down a fair few rabbit holes too including the old Coaches vs Teachers debate again. I play Switzerland in that one!
Of course, as is PE Umbrella tradition we dived into the regular show questions too…
– What currently excites you about PE?
– What misconceptions of Primary PE would you banish to room 101 given the chance?
– What is your perfect primary PE lesson recipe?
– What was the worst PE lesson you ever taught and why?
All of that plus top class-management tips, favourite warm-up games and behaviour management advice, there’s something here for everybody!
So what are you waiting for? Come on over and join us Under the PE Umbrella.
