Over the past 10 years, I have had the pleasure of being a Primary Class teacher and a PE consultant. I’ve delivered thousands of hours of lessons, some brilliant and some truly awful. I’ve had the opportunity to create, research and test 100’s of activities during this time. Sometimes they would be written down and I found them hard to decipher, sometimes I couldn’t understand the formatting. Alas, I created my own template and began writing some of my favourite activities down on them.
Here at the library, you can find all of the activities that have been designed using the PE Umbrella template. Every activity document walks you through step by step how to set up the game, the ‘layers’ and progressions you may choose to teach, how to make the game easier or harder, key teaching points of the skill, the equipment you will need and how the activity relates to each umbrella, giving you the freedom to choose which lens you teach the activity through.
An added benefit is that every single activity has been tried and tested in schools by me during my time as a teacher, so you can rest easy knowing that your students will enjoy them all!
The activities are split up by year group, and then further again by suggested units that they fit best into. It’s up to you to choose what you think will work with your students, download them and go have some fun!
