Hello once more and a warm welcome back to The PE Umbrella!
This week I bring you episode 29 of The PE Umbrella podcast and a resource episode that is sure to provide you with ideas and inspiration to take away into your teaching this week! The Summer term is a wonderful term to teach PE. Athletics, Cricket, Rounders and Tennis but to name a few, are all tremendous sports to get stuck into. As a Primary school teacher, I would often find myself browsing the internet for inspiration in the form of blocks of work, activities or even just warm ups, however, it is a time consuming affair sifting through the piles of substandard ‘plans’ before eventually finding something that may have been of use. It was on such a browsing session that I stumbled upon the resource that I am sharing with you today and it is one that I thoroughly recommend to all Primary School teachers and PE specialists alike. With 2 booklets packed full of warm ups, games and other activities you could easily fill an entire terms worth of tennis using them! Presented in such a user friendly and accessible manner it really should be your ‘Go To’ resource for all things Tennis. The resource in question is the Aegon Tennis Activities Pack 1 &2!
Within each of these sizeable packs you will find activities that are useful for both KS1 and KS2 classes. Each activity is presented beautifully, with one page consisting of a diagram and teaching points, and the second supporting page contains learning objectives, how the game is organised, how it can be made easier or harder as well as a ‘discover’ section that gives you question prompts to ask the children allowing for deeper thinking.
So come and join me ‘Under the Umbrella’ for this episode as I share my TOP 3 activities from these packs having delivered them myself over the past couple of years. Before starting the episode, click on the two buttons below to grab the Aegon Tennis Activities Packs for yourself absolutely FREE!
No more excuses, let’s get the rackets out and play some tennis!
