Welcome to episode 215 of The PE Umbrella podcast, the ONLY dedicated Primary PE Podcast in the world!
Joining me Under the Umbrella this week are the founders of School Sport Psychology, Helen Davis & Liz Barker.
After a meeting on a hunch because of a shared interest, Helen and Liz created school sport psychology and quite honestly, it couldn’t have come at a better time!
As the wellbeing of our children and pupils is at an all-time low, the focus on developing coping strategies, mental resilience and self-awareness has never been more critical. During this episode, we talk about the importance of understanding sport psychology, not just for our pupils, but also for ourselves too. We then take a deep dive into their 5 modules and unpick why the particular skills that are covered are important for everyday life and thriving in school. Those modules include:
– Mind
– Drive
– Feelings
– Talk
– Me
Come and find out how you can embed some of this learning into all of your PE lessons and have your pupils exploring goal-setting, managing emotions, effective communicating and responsibility amongst many others. Check out the taster video below!
So what are you waiting for? Grab your notepad (s) and a pen, then come and join us Under the PE Umbrella.
