Welcome to episode 163 of The PE Umbrella podcast, the ONLY dedicated Primary PE Podcast in the world!
Joining me Under the Umbrella this week is early childhood movement consultant Helen Battelley. Having attended one of Helen’s online training webinars, it was clear to see that she was the real deal and truly knows her stuff! I was incredibly excited when she agreed to come on the podcast as a guest and talk about her expertise with me and to share some of her incredible knowledge with you.
We take time exploring WHY the Early years of childhood are so critical to development, not only physically but cognitively, socially and emotionally too. Helen shines a light onto why we MUST get it right in EYFS and talks about tips, tricks and ideas that you can start to incorporate in order to do this. Helen backs up her work and ideas with solid research and with my assistance and experience we venture down many rabbit holes, unearthing more debating and suggestions for you to take away and mull over yourself, whether this relates to the pupils you work with or your very own children.
As the famous line from Jaws goes “We’re gonna need a bigger boat!”, in this case, “You’re gonna need a bigger note pad and pen!”
So what are you waiting for? Come on over and join us Under the PE Umbrella.
