“I think we’re doing children a disservice by not allowing them to get up and move!”
Welcome back to The PE Umbrella my friends. It is a pleasure to have you with us once again today for a truly special episode as I am joined by not one, but two guests!
I chat with Mary Corder, the content marketing manager for GoNoodle and Simon McLoughlin, a Primary School teacher, Class Dojo and GoNoodle ambassador. We delve into their experience to chat ALL things Primary PE including top tips, favourite resources, how physical activity impacts learning and why GoNoodle will transform your daily teaching experience for the better.
Mary and Simon share superb advice that is sure to have YOU fired up to try in YOUR school! Be sure to visit the GoNoodle website to sign up completely FREE and start browsing the many amazing videos on offer. So what are you waiting for? Click play right here or subscribe to the PE Umbrella on iTunes to listen at your own leisure whenever you choose.
What I Learned: Physical Activity has such a huge impact on the function of the brain! So let’s use it. Sometimes it can be hard for teachers to find that extra time to do more physical activity or PE with their children. With GoNoodle, this is no longer an excuse! Using this resource ties in perfectly with the ‘Growth Mindset’ approach to learning that many schools have and are adopting currently. I see nothing but benefits emerging from using this resource and embedding it into your daily routines benefits not only the children, but YOU, the teacher too. The image below, taken from the BBC earlier this week was one that I tweeted. It explains ALL. Need I say more?
