“I don’t often use technology in my classes unless I think it will benefit or enhance the learning…and in this case, it certainly did”
Hello to you, The PE Umbrella community, and thank you for taking the time to join me for episode 39 of the PE Umbrella Podcast. The only podcast that is dedicated to ALL things Primary and Elementary Physical Education!
This week I embark on a special triple release, whereby THREE episodes of The PE Umbrella podcast will be made available during the week ahead. Each episode will be a reflection of a particular topic that has crossed my mind in my teaching recently but I have ensured that they are short and snappy, roughly 8 minutes in length. This means more PE Umbrella this week, but in smaller bite sized chunks!
The first episode in this three part series is a short reflection and summary of the app ‘BAM Video Delay‘ and how I used it in a PE lesson teaching cricket only last week. Although BAM is by no means a new app on the scene, and is already wide spread in the classrooms of many practitioners, it is the first time I have talked about it at length myself and voiced my opinions. I first heard about the app myself during my interview with Jarrod Robinson (The PE Geek) episode 19, in which he highlighted it as his MUST HAVE app for all PE teachers. You can catch that interview and see the show notes in full HERE!
During this episode, I discuss…
- What is BAM Video Delay?
- What context I used it in
- Why I decided to use it/the benefits it brought to my lesson
- How I set it up
- What I intend to do next
Finally, for another outstanding summary and explanation of BAM video delay, check out Jarrod Robinsons blog post ‘Raising the Bar’, in which he walks you through his setup for high jump. Truly inspirational stuff!
I hope you enjoy this 8 Minute Musing and as always, I would love to hear about your own success stories using BAM in your lessons, no matter what the age group. Simply tweet @ryansporting or drop me an email at email@example.com to share your story.
