Our Journey

My name is Ryan Ellis, I am a qualified Primary School teacher with 15 years of teaching experience that has spanned classroom teaching and PE consulting roles.

As somebody truly passionate about ALL pupils receiving high-quality Primary PE, I launched The PE Umbrella Podcast in 2015 as a means to provide accessible CPD for teachers in a subject area sometimes not given the time that I feel it deserves in ITE.

Today, The PE Umbrella provides training, resources and a podcast with the aim of developing the confidence and competence of the workforce to deliver the PE national curriculum while nurturing wider life skills.

The notion of developing the whole child is the golden thread that runs through everything I stand for at The PE Umbrella. This framework IS The PE Umbrella itself.

Purple Affective/Emotional

My aim is to develop the PE Umbrella of every child so that they can tackle everything that life will throw their way.
